Art Unbound at Painswick Rococo Gardens opens Sunday 26th May – 8th September. Both the gardens and the sculpture are just fabulous and there is even a lovely cafe. I am showing 2 of my new Rise sculptures here, never been shown before, they describe waves ascending like a string of finned beads. They are made with a sustainable system of stainless steel structure, mesh and marble dust render body, hand made glass skin, which owes much to my research into materials and methods including Hepworth’s hands on plaster and mesh system for bronze. @rococogarden @annagreenacre_arts #sustainability #sculpture #artandscience #waves #rise #sculpturegarden #summersculpture #cotswolds #hepworth #toupret

Sculpture at Beaulieu opens on Saturday 25th May until 14th July. Increments of Flight have a fitting location and can be seen before you enter the house and gardens from Beaulieu village. You May have see these sculptures around the William Pye font in Salisbury Cathedral, and then they were the only moving things in the cathedral beside people. Here at Beaulieu they sit next to the river populated by swans which were the original inspiration for the group which are about stages in the flight of a bird or swan, representing a journey of consciousness. The show was called Liminality and was one of the first curated for the cathedral by @visualartsadvisor #sculpture #sculpturegarden #summersculptureseason @national_motor_museum #newforest #newforestponies #hampshire #salisburycathedral

Figure 8 at Beaulieu in the Abbey ruins. So apt. I made this sculpture for ‘The Figure in the Landscape’, which included the work of Moore and Hepworth and considered each artists response to the title. I think that for Moore the Figure was the landscape and Hepworth saw the Figure as part of the family of the landscape. My response links a favourite place, Mudeford and how when you see a person on the flats there it could be from another time, much of the landscape has retained its natural form, carved only by the sea and the wind. Sculpture at Beaulieu opens 25th May ‘The Figure in the Landscape’ was curated by Rachel Bebb in Winchester in 2012. #henrymoore #barbarahepworth @hepworthwakefield @henrymooreinstitute @rachelbebbgardengallery @national_motor_museum #abbeyruins #beaulieu #sculpture #sculpturegarden #mudeford #landscape #thefigureinthelandscape #sculptureatbeaulieu
