Quercus has a new glass skin, added in 2021. The
glass was painted in response to experiencing ancient woodland. At winter
solstice 2020, at the end of a year like no other we had ever known, I visited
Kingley Vale, an ancient yew forest on the South Downs. The limbs of yew entwined

The Rise series of sculptures and Rise 5
Rise are a series of sculptures which stand upright and are characterised by profiles which draw undulating wave forms. The symmetrical waves separate negative space and the stacked forms. A rhythm is created by the repeated volume and line, and the whole has a taught glass skin which separates the airspace and the mass, washing it in colour, a painted response in glass enamels.

The Rise sculptures are a series of works that have grown
out of my interest in how matter and energy move and the laws of physics which
govern our understanding of the world. Their repeated curves, ascending from
the earth towards space, echo the forms of waves of pure energy. They can be
